Zowie FK2 Review

Last Updated: December 6, 2019

Zowie is a company preferred by many pro-players. Recently BenQ, a company that owns Zowie, announced that all the new e-sports gear will be introduced under the Zowie brand name. This is huge for the company that got famous with its FK series which only has two mice in it. Making two perfect mice got them a huge part in the 22 billion dollar empire called BenQ.

The perfect mouse called Zowie FK2 is the descendant of the FK1. The only difference between these two mice is the size. The FK2 is a bit smaller than the FK1 so it would fit more people and grip styles. They both have also been updated throughout the years. The button latency has been improved about 15ms putting it on par with all the other high-end gaming mice.

The Zowie FK2 is one of the best gaming mice when it comes to overall performance and comfortability. The design and technology have been created with the intention to be a valuable piece of any gamers setup. During the years they have reached their goals and gamers from different background and gaming styles pick the Zowie FK2 as their everyday mouse.

DPI AND POLLING RATE

benq zowie fk2 gaming mouse priceThe Zowie FK2 has an Avago 3310 sensor which is well known in the gaming world as being one of the best. It has no acceleration and prediction, making it a very accurate mouse. The mouse has up to 3200 DPI with on-the-fly changing (3200/1600/800/400). The FK2 has an adjustable polling rate. You can choose between 1000, 500 and 125Hz. This all means you can configure the mouse to the previous settings you were used to or you can find something wholly new. It also has a lift-off distance of 1.5 mm – 1.8 mm. This has proudly been declared as the perfect lift-off distance.

DURABILITY

Instead of having a rubber coat that wears off and gets dirty fast it has a granular finish that still provides excellent grip. The mouse also has a good quality rubber cable. A lot of people say the prefer braided cables but I think that’s just a marketing trick. Braided cables get snagged behind corners much more than rubber cables. Breaking a good quality rubber cable is a lot harder than most people believe.

DESIGN

The FK2 is 4.9 x 2.5 x 1.4 inches and weighs 88 grams. Like I mentioned before the mouse has an ambidextrous design. That means it’s suitable for both left and right-handed players and there’s no setup needed. The mouse is just plug and play. The mouse has a beautiful slim design but it’s still big enough to fit most hands. You can comfortably use both claw and palm grip. People with very big hands should try the FK1. The mouse has Huano switches which are quite stiff to ensure you no misclicks that would spoil your game. The mouse comes with an extra pair of mouse feet so you can get years of play with no problems.

Also, a lot of players prefer the Hyperglide Mouse Skates. They are made for Zowie mice and give you an amazing glide with basically no friction.

Bottom Line

Zowie FK2 is known for being the top choice for high-precision gamers. It’s also gained a lot of renown for being the choice for a lot of e-sports players like Hiko, anger, snax, neo, GMX, skadoodle, adreN, KQLY. If you’re a gamer that looks for a simple high-end mouse that does its job perfectly, not something flashy and over-marketed with promises to make you the next JW from Fnatic, then you should buy this mouse.
